Volnay 'les grands poisots' Domaine Louis Boillot, Burgundy, France

Louis Boillot’s wife is Ghislaine Barthod who makes her own very lovely Chambolle-Musigny in the cellars they have shared since 2003. Whilst their wines are made independently (but no doubt with some consultation), Ghislaine and Louis share the same team in the vineyards so much of the magic appears in the wines of both domaines.

Expect lots of crunchy summer berries on the nose, very concentrated with tight, fine tannins, red berried fruit as well as blackcurrants and some blueberry notes.

This is fine elegant red burgundy beautifully produced and ful of promise.
