For me Saint Aubin 1er Cru, and especially 'Murgers dents de chien', can be every bit as good as its piers and neighbours Puligny Montrachet and not that far off its Grand Cru neighbours, so it is fabulous value for money.

The vineyard is located in the village of Saint-Aubin, above the plot of Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru (south of the Côte de Beaune) Soil: Limestone and a little clay.
Shimmering pale yellow colour with deep greenish reflections. First nose quite closed, but still showing a nice freshness and floral aromas. With a little air, we get elegant notes of lemon, pear, white peach, orange blossom and with a beautiful mineral presence and a slight woody touch.

On the palate, this Saint-Aubin is graceful with aromas of white-fleshed fruit and lemon, with mid-palate a nice creaminess (a roundness without heaviness!) And the finish is marked by a lively acidity, very refreshing, with a little fat that brings a nice complexity.

Just the thing to accompany a lobster.
