Puligny-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes, Vincent Girardin

Puligny-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes, Vincent Girardin

  • £65.00

Made from 55 year old vines, this wine shows this in great depth and concentration. It has beautifully ripe golden fruit character of peaches and greengages, with perfectly balanced acidity.

The 'dynasty' that is Vincent Girardin is quite recent one, it was born in the 1980s in Santenay when Vincent was only 19 and decided to take back the 2 hectares of vineyards owned by the family. The boy’s talent was immediately evident, maximum care and cleanliness in the vineyards and in the wine so as to expand his market around the world, this was made possible thanks to the winemaker Eric Germain, who has always been a consultant for the Maison. The range of wines has expanded over time, buying the grapes in the best Premier and Grand Cru plots of the Cote de Beaune, but always maintaining a very high quality philosophy.

Today they are a benchmark by which all other Burgundies are judged and remarkably remain great value for money.
