A blend of mostly Garnacha with Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, the grapes are left to ferment with the natural vineyard yeasts in small open tanks and the wine aged in a mixture of American and French oak barrels. The Scala Dei winery, latin for 'ladder of God', was established in the 12th century by Carthusian monks. Deep ruby ??with garnet hues, on the nose there are intense aromas of red fruits, such as strawberry and plum with notes of spice and violet.
