Chiroubles 'la forge', Beaujolais Cru Village, Domaine se la Chaponne.

This small vineyard of just one hectare belongs to the family of Laurence, wife of Laurent Guillet who makes the wine alongside his Morgon at Domaine de la Chaponne.

Grapes are fermented as whole bunches to give maximum colour and fruit without over extraction.

The wine is soft and gentle, with ripe juicy red fruit and a slightly earthy finish. A great example of this lesser known of the 'cru villages'.

Drink with anything to do with pork.
